One week ago

We went to the national zoo. It is one of the many components that make up the Smithsonian. It is wonderful!!! I have been going as long as I can remember. After all it is just a metro stop away. I love it. I have watched the hippos, garrafs, monkeys and most of all pandas since I was a child. This is one of the few zoos in the country that have pandas. I have seen many come and go.

They are so cute. And Yes this was how close we were to the Panda behind plexiglass!

My experiences with zoos does not stop there. As a college student I worked at a zoo outside of Seattle WA to help get me through college. What an unforgettable experience! I wish I had have had more time there.

It was also Memas birthday so the children think the whole reason we went to the zoo was to have her zoo birthday party. When in all reality I guess that was true. But we loved to see her, they loved to go to the zoo, it was a beautiful day, could not have asked for better weather, it went well.

Later that night we saw Pepa and went out to a terrible Mexican restaurant. Oh well , we at least had some dinner together. The dinner that my kids did not accidentally spill all over the table. they gave my 3 and 4 year old ginger ale in goblets!!!! Really...lets get real her it was only a matter of time and a complete accident but yes of course it ended up all over the tables. To top it off the terrible waitress never even gave us a towel. We will not go back there ever. There were so many horrible mistakes uff da.. if I would even began to tell you.

As we were going to leave my father asked how are you going to get home? A weird question. Especially since we drive this drive often. Unfortunately since the recent rains a sink hole had developed on the west bound lanes of our route home!

Oh no we had to detour and go another way. But it was such a nice day, such a happy birthday, in the end I am SO happy we went! Happy birthday plus one week Mema.

Earth Day

We have always been Earth Day celebraters. I remember celebrating vigorously on the Mall as I grew up. Going to events concerts and so many other fun happenings. As a college student I moved to the Northwest, where as you can imagine they celebrate there too. Now as a mother with preschoolers in tow I want to celebrate with them. So what did we do? We planted!

Here is spring time at our house. My boys are out in the yard and the windows are open. This is our second better batter baseball believe it or not. They are so hard on toys, and each other really.

He's the one

Photobucket

It is so nice to find the one. The one I want to run home and see. The one that's the father of my babies. The one that plays countless hours of wii with me. The one that doesn't care that I spend to much money on that thing. The one that loves the same things I do. The one I want to be with forever.

Baby girl now you are 2!

Oh baby girl I can't believe you are 2, I remember the first birthday I spent with you. A few hours old, in my arms you I did hold. I looked at you with such love because I knew you were a gift from above. God gave you to us out of His own grace and not a day goes by I don't think of your sweet sweet face. You might live an hour away but for you I will always come and play. I will bring the boys for I know you love them after all you are there only cousin. Baby girl you mean so much to me I couldn't have picked a better family.

Not tonight

I could not sleep. Last night there was nothing that was able to keep me asleep. I tossed and turned and for no reason. I did not get up as I have to work today and work for the next few days so this is my last chance to sleep for a while. Hindsight I should have just got up and when I am extra tired at 2 am just drank down that next cup of coffee.

Note the flannel pajamas? That's probably why I still only have 2 kidos!

Building a boat

My kids were both blessed with artistic gifts. My oldest especially, but he has also had more time to improve. Being so they love to do crafts. And it is so wonderful when daddy does them with his boys.

Today they were making a sail boat. Pretty easy but really fun. First they glued the pieces together. Then they attached the sail.

For Gregory the best part was painting.
