Back to our normal routine. I was not looking forward to this day. In fact I spent most of Sunday giving myself pep talks for it.
--You are going to wake up take your son to school and the go to the gym. Yes keep on driving, you can do it. The pool might be cold but you can do it. Its good for you. You will be happier in the long run.
They must have worked because I did it!
My oldest son was oh to happy to go back to school, almost heart breaking. My middle one said he was sick and needed to stay home. Aw sweet boy. And Smiley ran into childcare with not even a wave to Mommy. He never does that. But he did his happy dance when I picked him back up.
They were all ready to get back into our normal routine but I wasn't I wanted more time with them. I wanted more time at home not running so much. But life continues and that is also exciting.
We have so many fun events coming up and the warm weather to look forward to, it seems silly to want to grab my kids and stay in the moment. I overly enjoy them at home but I revel in their happiness as they get to live their life and all that is in it.
Even though excitement for the new year is upon us, even though there are these many things we are looking forward to there is one thing I was not, a new lower income. Money is a great deal of stress for anyone and with January here we were going to be in a great finical bind. There were things that I wanted to pay off before this happened, the truck and house, that did not get paid off yet. With those paid off we could have handled the lower income and still managed to take on the extra expenses. We are taking on a remodel of part of the downstairs of our house. My husband does not have the time or skills to do it so we hired the best contractor to do it. He is wonderful and expensive. And we also have the two older boys school bill which is more than 2x's our monthly mortgage, every month. I was not sure how this was going to work.
I prayed. A lot. And then I gave it to God. Reminded by books the children have been carrying around lately God care about me and God provides, he does. God was not going to leave us destitute and if he was it would be for a good reason. Possibly to teach us to better finical responsibility or to open our eyes to something I am missing, or for better contentment something I struggle with. What every it may be God knows, he is in control and he cares for me.
Giving it to God was a weight off my shoulders. Matthew 11:28 Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest." I am certain he has all of our best interest in mind. He has took care of my family, provided for us, and kept us together through all kinds of situations. I know this I have seen it lived through it. That made it easier to give this one to him as well.
Then the praise's started coming. Monday turned out to be a great day. Like I said earlier I made it to the gym. It was so nice to see some of the friends I have there. Also to work out. Truth was told about my 3 week hiatus when I put on my bathing suit. Even my arms gained weight during that time :( I still wore it proudly and did not let it bother me. It is winter I have time to lose some arm weight before I bring out the sleeve outfits.
When I got home I made a great lunch for hubby and me. It was something we had not ate in a while and tasted delicious.
I ran a bunch of errands with time to spare. I even stopped by the dentist to drop off a form the school has been hounding me about since September. Nothing like procrastination but at least I did it now.
I went to my doctor and got good news!
I went home made a phone call and was overcome to find out money is going to be okay. At least for a little longer.
God is good. He provides for us and he cares for us. Not all my problems are solved nor is the future certain but I know what I have and who it is from and I am so thankful. I give all praises to Him.
If I was not sure later in the day the sun was setting. We were in the car comming back from school and my sweet Evan was saying how beautiful the sunset was. This past Sunday a point the pastor touched on was on how we are connected to things we make when we make them with love. He pointed out how we marvel at Gods creations everyday the stars in the skys the sunsets that nearly stop our car to just stare. In fact it is up on the churches website so I will copy and paste it here:
Main Scripture passage: Yet, O LORD, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand. (Isaiah 64:8)
“His creation reveals his immeasurable power and might, his bewildering imagination and wisdom, his immortality and transcendence, ultimately leaving us in mystery.”
God’s creation is so amazing that it leaves us speechless. Look up at the stars, see a sunset, look closely at an insect under a magnifying glass, notice people – individuals – and see what God has made. You will be filled with wonder and awe.
God is intimately bonded to you this morning, because you are his special creation. He knew you before you were born and he knit you together in your mother’s womb. He knows you. He cares about you. He smiles when you do his will. He cries when you get hurt. He grieves when you ignore him – even for a day. He high fives the angels when you give a cup of water in his son’s name. Do you know God wants to be intimate with you?
God gave people the role of ruling or having dominion over the rest of creation. God’s intention for each of us is that we would have dominion in our world rather than having our circumstances rule us. This role was distorted when Adam sinned and sin entered the human race, but it can begin to be reestablished if we trust Jesus and follow him.
There can be so many things clamoring for your attention. God can easily be relegated to 2nd or 3rd or lower on your list of priorities. But because he alone made you – you didn’t even make yourself by your hard work, good morals and fine education – he alone must be the object of your worship.
How amazing! And then Evan who was not at this sermon with me said "mommy did God make the sunset for me because he knows I like it?" Wow. I smiled I knew and I told him yes.
