Is there a doctor in the house?

Why yes!  It is Faith and she is here to take care of all your needs.  Open up and saw AWWWW

Photobucket

I can't tell you how cute it is when she says AWW then shoves a wooden stick at your face.

But at every appointment you need your blood pressure checked.

Photobucket

Well she can take care of you there too.

Both girls had check ups.  Faith her 18 month and Grace her 2 month. Both of them are doing great. Healthy, happy and getting so big!

Grace is now 24 inches long and 12 pounds.  This growth spurt from the 21,5 inches and 8.9 pounds she was born at just 2 months ago.

Faith is really looking big lately   Maybe because of the addition of a smaller sister  or just the fact that now she is a toddler.  Humph I hate saying that.  She is still so every bit my little baby girl, just not as baby as Grace.  But I think I have to get over it.  After all babies are not 33 inches and 28 pounds.  She could not be growing better we love her more and more every day.  Her personality far exceedes her 33 inches she is a hoot!

Grace had to get some shots.  She of course did not like it and it made her so terribly unhappy for the rest of the day.  Faith was just terrified all around.  When they called her name to come back she grabbed the wall and then chairs she was not having it that day.  She clung to me for life in the room but it all was okay just a check up and no shots.  She could have got a flu shot but we passed.  Not when she was all ready so scared.  Why traumatize my daughter.  But in the end it all ended okay, she got some princess stickers for her and race car stickers for her brother.

The Pumpkin Patch

Today everyone was home.  It's Columbus Day so me and the kids were off.  I had told the kids I would take them out to get  their pumpkins this week and they felt today would be perfect, they felt it more than me.  We woke up to our coldest morning yet.  We might have been in shorts this weekend but today we are in pants, sweatshirts, hat and gloves.  No coats except Faithy the rest of us are in denial.  Denial that we woke up to a cold drewery temperature in the high 30's!  Yes!  It sucked.  It is October and Pennsylvania Octobers are crazy.  Last year October brought us our biggest snow of the year.  But usually we are in shorts and t-shirts.  It did get in to the 40's today.  Whaoo!  Oh well that did not stop us nor did the treat of a rainy nasty forecast.  We went out early and beat the rain.  We went to the farm to play and pick pumpkins!

We went to a local farm called Benders.  We love this farm because it has a large petting zoo area and for a small price you can feed the animals.  The lucky goats and bunnies were closet to where you buy the food so it is not a stretch to say they are the most well took care of.

Photobucket

They loved the bunnies!  They could have cared less for the rooster and chickens next to them but they kept handing these little guys a gourmet meal of carrots, celery, apples, and other stuff.

If the 4 of them had not wasted the 4 cups of food on the bunnies and goats they would have had food left for the horses, alpacas, all the other animals.  Sorry Faithy no more food left for him.

But for the most important part the pumpkin patch!  YAY!!

Photobucket

Mercy these kids found the biggest pumpkins out there.  They were huge.  I think Gregory got the biggest left in the patch.  And when you are pumpkin picking for 5 kids buying extra large pumpkins carrying them is out of the question.  We had to wheelbarrow it.

Photobucket

It was so funny to watch his wheel barrowing skills.  Much like a drunk driver.  I am so glad he did not out any brothers or sisters in there.

Picking the pumpkins was fun but the kids loved playing.

Photobucket

Corn mazes, corn holeing, bean bags, hay fights, slides, weird people all over.

Even straw animals.

Smiley took the reigns but Faith I think she was wondering whats up?  Why is my horse not moving mom!  This is not what I wanted.

Photobucket

It was fun.  We had a great time.  And bought many more pumpkins to carve.

littlest one

Where ever I am you want to be.  If my hands are empty you want to be in them if they are full you still want to be there.  You have been growing so much and are full of life.  Your legs kick your arms flare but your beautiful face smiles the biggest and prettiest smiles.  Your shirt says my heart belongs to my mommy and it could not be more true.  And little one my heart belongs to you!

Hot chicken Salad

After quite a few pinterest misses I made Paula Deen's hot chicken salad.  Finally something good not fantastic nor the best I ever had but it was good.  And full of SO much fat!

However this was a quick and easy recipe.

IMG_6478

Gather together all the ingredients.

2 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup diced celery
2 cup cooked chicken breast meat, cubed
1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
2/3 cup crushed potato chips

Combine everything but the potato chips and put in to a baking dish.

IMG_6479

I added a little more shredded cheese to cover the dish then I covered generously with the crushed potato chips.

Place in the oven at 350 and back for 20 minutes.  Give it a time to set so it i not runny and then enjoy!

Pretty as a Pumpkin

Well it may not be the super cute pumpkin outfits we are used to but this princess is pretty in anything.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Okay so she did not want to stop swinging to have her picture took.

She is much happier when I just capture her in her element. She love jumping and doing summer salts on the trampoline.  And it is adorable to watch.  She is such a lite thing bug a big force.

Lots of fails

As everyone knows I love pinterest.  And I get most my recopies from there.  But since anyone can pin whatever they want not all recipes are tested by the food network kitchens, hardly any at all.  The babies and I have been having a lot of fun making new meals for lunch but not everything is turning out very good.  We have had more than are fair share off misses this past week.

We tried making Outback's potato soup and.... yuck!

Photobucket

Photobucket

It got such rave reviews I was about to make double but it would not fit in my crock pot  glad I didn't.  I even tried to make it better with diced ham and just feel I wasted a lot of money.

I made another chicken crock pot dish and it was not bad but it was not good.  It was so bland.  And it was so thick.  It was the consistency of a sloppy Joe what do you do with that?  Eat it like a soup?  Use it like a dip.  Well I froze it.  I am going to try to revamp it and use it in enchiladas which I think it will be great for but should have been labeled something like that in the beginning.

Photobucket

I even added green peppers in hopes that would help.  It didn't.

IMG_6224

But like I said this was the most salvageable out of all of them.

I have made the world's best taco soup, that was far from it.

I made an old comfort favorite crock pot creamy chicken noodle soup that was thick, creamy and so filling,  You eat it then an hour later you are starving.  To starchy to eat a bowl at a time all night long but it was decent.

So now tonight I am trying another.  Another comfort food for this rainy Sunday.  However I pinned it from Paula Deen's sites.  She is never a miss.  She is perfect.  I hope to one day be a fat silver not gray
(and with my mom just starting to silver at least that part is  long ways off) old southern lady who smiles, makes the BEST food, dazzles in diamond that are worth more than my house, spends time with her kids and grand kids at her beautiful house on the water.  Fingers crossed I could use a winner.  Look forward to her hot chicken salad review this week.
