Sleeping Beauty

So sweet, she is. As dear as it gets, so I thought. Until on day when she fell asleep with her blanket, bunny, and binki. I love babies, I love my princess.

Tuckered out

For two weeks now the children and I have been on go, go, go. For the last two weeks the boys have gone to camp all day 8:30 to 4 to come home for an early dinner only to be gone around 6 to Vacation Bible School. It is hardest on the boys as they play heavily at camp all day. And manage to have plenty of energy to jump dance and sing through VBS. This week I am leading the 6th graders again at VBS so I get to stay there jump, dance and sing also. My kids are amazing. They are a bit hard to wake in the morning but they have more energy than a red bull and monster combined. They make it home they managed to stay up til 11PM!!!! on Tuesday watching Americas got talent. Each night I make it to the couch.

Karen sleeping with Faith

Each night he is home Jay snaps a picture of me sleeping on it. He is also a trooper working a 15 hour shift last night, over night and just after finishing over a week with out a day off doing these overnight shifts. I could have took a picture of him falling asleep while climbing the stairs this morning but that would have just been mean. It was funny though.

Today it is hot heat index is 120. I was going to garden after I dropped my little angles off at 7:30 this morning thinking it would be cool then but it was all ready in the 90's. Whew! My oldest said to me "mom, people complain they want it hot when it is cold and when it is hot they say it is too hot. I don't get it?" Wisdom form my young son.

Only two more days and our busy, busy, busy two weeks will be done. Then for the first time this summer we have a break. We have little scheduled and lots of time to play.

Racing Around

One week before we went Gregory started measuring. Checking everyday to see if he is tall enough hopeing he would grow. He badly wanted to be tall enough to drive the go-carts all by himself. He did not make the cut this year. His disapointment would have lasted longer if it wern't for the fact he got to be fastly chauffered around the track by his dad.

We zoomed around our whole goal was to beat each other. I won many times over.

Photobucket

We got aggressive running the carts into each other. Cutting each person off at the bends. Often makeing each other spin out and the race would have to stop. At point Evan said mom I don't want to ride with you any more. Baby if your not first your last.

Photobucket

Gregory has spent time since trying to grow. Plotting his driving stratiges. Coaxing his brother into ridding with him so they can beat their dad, uncle and try to beat me.

When we wern't causing each other and our children whiplash we took to some calmer activites.

Like golf.

Photobucket

Little ones on the links. Iwas surprissed the clubs did not turn to sworads at somepoint.

Photobucket

It wasn't a game of who would win because they all cheat.

Photobucket

I only got to hit one hole since Smiley stole my club as soon as I got it. It's okay I could not putt that day at all.

Photobucket

They were the only two who did not play. They stayed in the shade. It was a hot day but perfect for playing in the water.

We put on our suits and ran through sprinkler, splashed in the pool, and went down some pretty steep slides.

Photobucket

Photobucket

See the slide behind my brother that big red one. It was long, it was steep, it was fast. The funny part was it spit kids out at the end like little rock skipping across the water it was too funny.

Photobucket

It is a lot of fun to play with your kids. But did they wear us out. Within a half an hour into the trip home the 5 of us were sound asleep.

Pirates and Zombies

Does that sound like the perfect combination to you? How about for an off off Broadway play? How about if you are 8, 6, and 2 and all boy. Ahh its starting to sound perfect now huh. Well so thought the people at a local playhouse near us. I knew the big boys would like it I thought the babies would be a handful. Who takes a three month old and a just turned 2 year old to live theater? Today I did and guess what they had a great time. And were good!

Photobucket

Yes that is right my Smiley sat through it laughing and clapping. All the kids made noise but the play was done at an early time inviting children so they did not have to be quite. The cheered, they said arugh. They were captivated. We all enjoyed it.

Photobucket

Since they sat so well I thought a nice treat would be to take them to a candy store called Mr. Ed's. It is a weird place. Elephant themed and quite small but has nice gardens. Elephant themed gardens.

Hershey's Milk Chocolate

Where do you live? I live less than an hour form Hershey, PA. We are lucky. They have a top notch childrens hospital, with great doctors. Which was why we were there this day. Smiley had a check up that went very well. Since we were all ready up there we decided to stop by Choclateworld! You can't go to the home of chocolate and not go to Chocolateworld.

Photobucket

Yes I took all four to Hershey by myself with out a stroller. They are not permitted there. It was tough. Actually it is not the number of kids that is tough to manage it is one in particular, lets just say he is the one that fits the terrible two description. The one I could not leave with a sitter. So with that we move on and have a good time.

We rode the the ride watching chocolate get made they loved it. In fact Faith loved it too. She was crying and fussy and some points but stick her in front of those dancing cows and she was happy. But what made the other 3 the happiest was getting to be factory workers themselves and making some Hershey kisses.

Photobucket

They each got there box shaped like a kiss and took it to there station.

Photobucket

Photobucket

And pushed buttons to fill there box.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Evan made sure he filled it as full as you can get.

Photobucket

After you fill the boxes up you give them a big shake.

Photobucket

And a little dance.

Photobucket

And then you take the chocolate kisses away form the earlier said 2 year old (you can only imagine the throw down tantrum) so mom can over pay for chocolate times 3.

Fun and Games on the Fourth

The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. It is my 2nd favorite, Christmas is in the lead. Where as Christmas is the birth of our Savior the 4th is the birth my my son. My crazy kid!

Photobucket

It has always been a long and fun weekend full of celebration. Every year we go to the town jubilee. It is always a good time with my firecrackers.

Photobucket

Don't you love making family members stick there heads in these photo opps? Yay I have 4 now they fill up all the holes! I love how Faith grew a mustache and Gregory is a girl. I can tease him about that for weeks;)

It was Faith's first fourth, she is excited. Can't you tell?

Photobucket

It was so hot. And the humidity added to it. We played and had a great time even though.

Last year the boys very much wanted to climb the rock wall but in our opinion just were not ready yet. What a difference a year makes. They were ready. They were strong enough and they climbed away. What little spidermen we have. Honestly I am more happy because they like doing something I like to do too. I love that Gregory is so fast and loves to run and now they love to climb. I see us pursuing this.

Everyday I ask the children what is there favorite part of the day, I always love the answers. Sometimes they surprise me and most always they make me smile. From my birthday boy he said wearing the shirts we made as a family. Awww. I asked if he wanted to wear them aging and he said "yay next year but lets make new ones."

Photobucket

On his actual birthday Saturday, we made these shirts getting ready for the fourth. I think they turned out great. It was a little more stressful than fun but how happy they were to have made them and wear them made it all worth it. Even if four days later I still have blue fingers.

Photobucket

Happy Birthday, happy days!
