A Fish Tale

Lately the boys have done a lot of fishing. They have been going out more nights than not. Most nights I stay home and watch Smiley but one afternoon we went along too.

We catch and release. This day we were catching blue gills. Where we were they are the most common fish caught. For a while they were biting so fast Jay could not keep up. As soon as he would but the worm on one of the boys polls,

he would be taking a fish off anothers. It was overwhelming.

We all caught some fish. Evan had many nice catches. He would get bored quick though but being 5 he did well. He is still learning to real it in and thats what he was working on most this day.

I caught a trophy fish.

Mostly I just loved on my boys and helped them. They were so happy I went. They wanted to show me everything and hung on my side most the time.

It was Gregory who caught the bigest fish. It was a blue gill, it was a keeper, even though we threw it back. It was the biggest blue gill we had ever seen.

The pictures don't do it justice. It was definitely larger than anything his dad caught. Gregory made sure his dad knew that too, repeatedly.

Jay and I tried to catch some catfish. But they just were not biting that day.

Now since I am the one who usally watches Smiley what happened to him? He came with us. Happy, smiley, a pleasure to have with us. He was so happy to see the fish.

We had a nice time.

One notable thing you didn't mention is in many of the pictures taken you can see something hanging from my belt, that is an "Off" bug repelling device that normally works quite well. What I didn't know was one of the boys turned it off, and I didn't realize it until we got into on the way back home. I was covered head to toe in mosquito bites the next day.....
